"The Wiz," a soul-infused retelling of "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz," follows Dorothy as she's whisked away to the magical land of Oz by a tornado. She seeks the help of the all-powerful Wiz to get home, encountering along the way a Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion who also seek their own wishes. The group faces challenges and ultimately learns that the key to their desires lies within themselves.
